One of the most interesting questions we received during the Presence Kickstarter campaign wasn’t about chatbots, AI agents, or automation.
It was about CAD.
A backer asked whether Presence would be able to assist with 3D design and modeling for 3D printing.
The question made us stop and think.
Over the past few years, artificial intelligence has found its way into writing, research, programming, and image generation. Much less attention has been given to another rapidly growing field: makers, designers, and the 3D printing community.
That reflection led to the creation of Presence Forge.
What Is Presence Forge?
Presence Forge is an optional Presence module dedicated to AI-assisted design and digital fabrication.
Its goal is not to replace professional tools such as Fusion 360, FreeCAD, Blender, or other specialized software.
Instead, it aims to make design more accessible by allowing users to describe what they want to create using natural language while a local AI helps transform those ideas into practical designs.
Imagine being able to say:
“Design a wall mount for a Wi-Fi router.”
or
“Create a printable storage box with a snap-on lid for AA batteries.”
or
“Generate a custom smartphone stand optimized for 3D printing.”
Presence Forge is designed to help turn those requests into editable parametric models that can be refined, customized, and manufactured.
Built for Makers
The maker movement has become one of the most creative and innovative technology communities in the world.
Millions of people design, modify, print, and share objects every day.
Most of them are not professional engineers or industrial designers.
They are teachers, hobbyists, students, entrepreneurs, technicians, and creators who simply want to build useful things.
Presence Forge is designed for them.
The objective is to lower the barrier to entry while preserving flexibility, control, and creativity.
Local First, Always
Like every other component of the Presence ecosystem, Forge follows the same core philosophy:
Your work stays on your computer.
No mandatory subscriptions.
No dependence on cloud services.
No need to upload your designs to external servers.
AI-assisted design happens locally, using the computing power available on your own system.
More Than a CAD Tool
Presence Forge is not just about generating 3D models.
It is part of a broader vision for Presence as a modular local AI ecosystem.
We believe AI should be able to assist with real-world creative workflows, from writing and research to coding, design, and digital fabrication.
Forge represents our first dedicated step into the maker space, bringing AI-assisted design capabilities directly to users who want to create physical objects rather than simply generate content.
Just the Beginning
Presence Forge is only one of several new modules planned for the Presence ecosystem.
As the platform grows, we intend to expand its capabilities into additional creative, technical, and professional domains while maintaining our commitment to privacy, ownership, and local execution.
For makers, designers, and 3D printing enthusiasts, Forge is our invitation to explore what happens when local AI becomes a creative partner in the design process.
We’re excited to see what you’ll build.
Presence Forge will be available as a limited-time bonus for eligible Kickstarter backers before becoming a standalone add-on module for the Presence ecosystem.
